Damn, I think that KISS pinball, once repaired and cleaned up would almost be worth that price! Sheesh!

What MADE that deal was actually those skill stop slots.

List them in the paper IMMEDIATELY. Since they are working good, you should be able to QUICKLY sell them for $175-$200 each and get your entire cash outlay back within the week.

At the last Dallas auction there was a Kiss pinball.  All of the guts were taken out, including the playfield.  The only part that was usable was the marquee.  It went for $600.  I can't imagine what that working Kiss pin will get!!!!
Next I'll be on fries, and that's when the big money starts rolling in.

Yes, you did indeed get a good deal there! The slot machines are known as "Pachislo" skill stop machines. Visit www.pachislocity.com and join the forums. It costs $2.99 a month but this site is well worth it as the site is the best and most informative place on Pachislo machines. There's a machine look-up page so you can see which ones are collectible and what game play features they have. There's even manuals for sale too.

That Genie pinball is a Gottlieb brand and it is a "System 1" electronics. Visit the repair guides at marvin3m.com to fix all your pinball machines.

I did a little research and it looks like some company called "Fascination only made 300 of these, with some called "The Entertainer" and others called "Roy Clark the Entertainer".

I know someone else on here saw/bought(?) another sit down pinball recently, I just can't remember who that was.

I can't imagine what something like that would be worth. I'd offer to buy it from you, but I'm sure I couldn't afford it.

I guess I'm probably the only guy in the world who would get more excited about the Roy Clark pin than the KISS pin.  ;)

>I know someone else on here saw/bought(?) another >sit down pinball recently, I just can't remember who >that was.

That would be me.  That one is exactly the same shape cabinet that my cocktail pinball is.  Mine is a "Game Plan" brand, and they did make quite a few different models.  I tracked down a couple of problems with mine, and will have to send out one of the PCBs for repair of battery damage.

If you don't tend to all of those pinballs right away, at least check for NiCd batteries attached to the boards.  Apparently many a pinball has been destroyed by 'suicide batteries.'  The good news is that they are often repairable if you catch it before the damage gets too severe.

I'm sure we can all agree that CF's deal was good, but I thought his price was kind of high for someone who wanted his shed cleaned out.

I guess the guy kind of knew what he had?

Did you haggle?

Congrats.

I admire your optimism with those pins .."Not even a single light, I think it must be something simple" ;D ;)

Awesome find man--that lethal weapon 3 and terminator 2 pin are worth what you paid for the lot.

He knew they had some value, and haqving the price tags on a few machines didn't help me out. I did try to offer him 1,100.oo when we thought none of them worked. he said he'd go no lower than 2,000.oo which i said was "fine" after some hesitation. Then when we found one working pinball (T2) he said $2,500.oo to which I said, "any higher and I'm walking away"

I still think it's gotta be "Deal of the Year" considering the vast majority of items are working correctly.  Those pinballs are worth 1,500 - 2,000 each and the older ones are worth a bit less except the KISS pinball.

I thought $2,500 was an absolutely amazing deal. Am I wrong? Did I misjudge?  ???

LOL! I am only assuming it's something simple because all the other machines have sparked up without any problems. If it's something more sinistar than a fuse or power supply it'll be a good learning experience. :)

P.S. Thanks for that link!

Just my opinion, but I'd say you stole that stuff. As others have said you can quickly make your money back by only selling a small portion of the stuff you got. Like Paige said, the first thing you should do is start selling off thos pachislo machines.

No, your story makes the price sound better.  At first I was also thinking $2500 sounds high for a guy that wants his shed cleaned out that day...  It sounds like you got them for as low as he would go, and that lot is a steal at $2500.
This opinion was created from 100% post consumed information.

woohoo! making Progress. Pac-Land had a bad safety switch. it works flawlessly now and the display is perfect.  Gladiators also had a bad safety switch, but is missing all it's balls.  :P KISS def. works but is missing balls too, same with WWF Royal Rumble. I'll be picking up new balls tomorrow.  (no bad jokes please! ;)  )

My only disappointment so far is the Nitro Ground Shaker pinball. That one is def. DOA. :( I think the artwork makes this my favorite pinball out of the bunch )

Also, I put the legs on the rest of the pinballs. Boy that was a chore! :o

You might want to consider buying new balls for ALL of your machines. Worn silver balls can lead to pitting and excess wear in the playfields. I don't think that they are that expensive, and the lives of your pins will be extended.

I would definately keep the rare  roy clark pinball. And maybe one of those skill tops too, just because they look kewl. hehe.
Some of the other stuff, i would get rid of though.  Maybe even some of the crappy pinball machines.  That T2 pinball and kiss pinball would be my CENTER PIECES!!!! heeheh.   I really did like the "antique" look and feel of that roy clark piece.   Man, i need to start collecting stuff like that.  I've never really seriously looked into buying arcade machines, but i think i may start hehe.  It would just look kewl having old vintage stuff around the house for conversation pieces.  :)

Good score man!  Seems like alot of money at first , but when all is said and done, it will work out ok in the end. Just play your cards right and you will probably be ahead.

Groovy, I agree that there's nothing neater than a vintage pinball machine. My dad has a really cool old Gottlieb Big Hit Baseball pin. (like this one: http://www.ipdb.org/machine.cgi?id=253 ) I think it's way more fun to play than any newer multi-level pin.

I plan on keeping 4 out of the 8 pinballs, not sure which 4 yet, as well as the DK jr cocktail and maybe Astron Belt since it reminds me of Battlestar Galactica (assuming I can fix it). I am also keeping 4 differnt Pachislo's and maybe 1 more for spare parts which leaves about 10 others to sell. :) I just found out how easy it is to modify them to accept quarters, and they make auto stop chips so it'll run like a genuine slot machine. They also make "bandit arms" for these, who would have thougght? :)
