Wico leaf joy switch adjustment
« on: March 01, 2004, 05:07:12 pm »
Hi all,

I'm setting up a couple of Wico leaf sticks for my panel.

The leaf switches clearly need adjustment--the stick has a large "dead" space in the middle--but I'm wondering if anyone has any tips, pointers, instructions, warnings on how best to go about adjusting them?  What tools do I use, are there "standard" spacings or adjustments, which parts of the switches do I actually bend?

Should I clean the contacts, and what with?

I'm still seriously new at this, and afraid of breaking these 20-year-old articles.  Perhaps silly, but I've always been a little timid about such things.

Thanks!
What was that again?

Best tool is a tiny pair of needle nose pliers.  Grip the leaf at the base (where it meets the plastic) and twist.  Not too hard or you could tear the metal, but you'll get the feel for it.  You'll have to adjust both the inner and outer leaf.  Also there is a stiff back piece that should sit flush with the outer leaf.  Once you get the hang of it you can set up your joysticks for perfect senitivity, depending on what kind of games they will be used for.
Back for nostalgia, based on nostalgia.
