I am looking to build my first cabinet, I don't envision using many games that uses a spinner, but i wondered if it could work to use a single trackball axis as a "spinner" in games like araknoid? Or is this not really feasible?
Trackballs are usually lower resolution than spinners, but many spinner games will work well enough with a trackball.
- You may need to adjust the sensitivity in the MAME "Analog Controls" menu.
Some games like Arkanoid used geared spinners that provide a much higher resolution (more transitions) for a given amount of rotation.
- Those games might not work well enough even if you increase the sensitivity.
Try various spinner games, play around with the sensitivity, and see if you like them.
