1997 Cab with Acadeos 2.47 just stopped working upgrade options?

Hi, I’m new to the forum but have a 1997 cabinet that my old boss configured for me with Arcadeos 2.47 Pc2Jamma setup. It’s been running in my living room since 2007 but recently started to hang loading roms and then returning to the games list. I have been playing around with settings and accidentally changed the Player 1 start button mapping which I can’t seem to rectify, I have connected a keyboard and still don’t seem to be able to get into the file menu to switch this back. My question is whether there are better alternatives available if I rip out the existing PC setup and replace with a current config. I am a web developer so don’t mind getting technical but have limited prior knowledge of emu’s at this point.

Any advice greatly appreciated.
