Super Pang Bootleg, Level Select Problem
« on: July 02, 2022, 07:11:04 pm »
Hi All,

Quick question, does anyone have a Super Pang bootleg and know if the level select works on tour mode?

On my Super Pang board when I hold the player 1 joystick down whilst selecting tour mode it enters the level select screen as expected, but it gets stuck there, the music keeps playing in the background, but the timer doesn't count down and there is no Asterix to select a level, all i can do is reboot the game, the attachment show it working in mame and my board not working, just wondering if it works on other bootlegs or if that part of the code just hasn't been implemented.

Thanks,
Chris.

Solved:

Just in case anyone else was wondering, I checked in M.A.M.E. and the bootleg version of Super Pang 'SPANGBL' also has this Level select problem, the timer doesn't count down and there is no Asterix to select a level, the only way to proceeded is reset the game or in my case restart my machine :-(

It would be cool for this to be fixed in the bootleg ROM as it's a feature my kids would use, I don't know what the problem is, maybe a piece of hardware is missing on the bootleg or maybe a wrong address jump etc,but I hope someone can fix it one day :-)

Chris.
