Like the titlle says. Do you use a batch file? or is it just copy the special ddraw file into the emu folder and use the emu normally? Thanks for your help.

Yoiur question doesn't quite make sense. CRTEMU creates the video modes for you, you can just use whatever modes you want.
If what you mean is how to change modes for different games - you can change modes using ArcadeOSD. If you mean how to change modes automatically, like as you choose a game from a front end, one way is to use switchres (from command line), which has been the topic of recent discussion here:

Alternatively, you could use a third party utility like Display Changer 2:

You can do that with a batch file, and launch from your front end.

There is a way to execute switchres from a commandline/bathfile/whatever.
Does that pinned threat cover that? I am interested in taking a look at that, one day.

The thread I linked discusses ways to launch switchres by command line but I haven’t done it myself yet
