Stronger Spring for Ultimarc Servostik
« on: September 04, 2021, 01:04:43 pm »
Hi all!

I have a couple of servostiks (which I believe are based off the Sanwa JLW) with the rotary option (Ikari warriors). I love the capability, but having grown up with American arcades, I really miss the stiffer action of a Happ.

I assume I can fix this by swapping out the default springs with a 6lber or something. The dimensions of the spring are 15mm in diameter and 2cm in height.

1: any idea where I could get such a spring? I’ve searched around the internet, but the spring descriptions tend to be vague. I tried purchasing one that was compatible with JLF, but it was too small in diameter.
2: any other ideas to stiffen the stick up a bit?

Thanks, everyone!

These fit - I mentioned he may want to advertise it better..
It's stiffer.

Ah great to hear it did the job. I had emailed Andy and he mentioned that as well. So it feels more like a classic American arcade stick?  I realize the pros love the Japanese style, but i am going for nostalgia vs performance. :)

I'm not the right person to ask if it feels like something particular.  It's a lot less mushy..  that I can say :)

Is there a US-based source for this spring?  If I had known it was available I'd probably have added it to my Ultimarc order but that ship has sailed (or rather, that plane has flown :P)
