Anyone tried the Saturna short body buttons?
« on: June 21, 2021, 12:07:19 pm »
I was over on GGG's website and see short body buttons.. they don't come lit but looks like they could be rigged to do so.l

anyone have any exp with them? how do they feel? I like the feel of the old happ concave buttons.. how does it compare?

https://groovygamegear.com/webstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=73&products_id=411

I tried searching here for "Saturna" but nothing came up.

EDIT: found a seller on ebay that looks like they have the same buttons for sale.. I asked them about them and they told me the face is flat.. which is a no go.. if it ain't concave it don't' feel right.

Still curious on opinions but think im gonna p ass on these.

I'll give you my feelings on them, and why I chose to add them to the store.

1: There aren't a lot of options for shorter-bodied buttons.
2: If someone chose to, it wouldn't take much to mod them for lighting.
3: They are capable of having legends added to them.
4: The flat-top isn't bad.  While they are not concave, they also are not convex like many similar buttons.  Sort of an in-between.
5: They are very smooth actuating, especially with our custom switches. And due to the position of the switch actuator leg, they have a nice, tight switch response.

If there are any real negatives, other than those looking for concave buttons, I would say it is the bezel color.  Not sure why, but white doesn't seem to be very popular.  This tends to limit their use to those with more unique designs.

Any confirmation if Rit dye works on the bezel/body of these buttons?
- Seems like knowing that it is possible to dye them to any desired color would be a good selling point.   ;D
