It should be a requirement that you have to post a photo with 3 of your friends and you holding a sign that says we want to play 4 player <insert game here> before plans or advice is given out....lol.  I know there are a few that have get togethers and do have enough people to play but its rare.  I'm starting to wonder why I even put a player 2 on my panels.  I've had tons of folks over and 2 kids in the house with friends over and most people just look and say cool and walk on by.

People also use the, “But I have three kids!” argument, which I get, but guess what? Those kids are gonna be bored with the machine in about a week and never play it until their friends come over. Those friends will be excited the first time they see the machine, and that’ll be it on subsequent visits.

So true.  My three kids play on the arcade cabinets once or twice a year even though they grew up with it and have been surrounded by it the entire time they have been alive.  My daughter had one in her room since she was two years old and the older she gets, the less she plays.  I eventually put it in the basement with the rest of them because she wanted more space in her room.  It's a novelty, at best, that they play one time with friends and move on.

We all have very fond memories that defined our childhoods (I assume), which is why we still really love playing arcade games.  Younger generations just don't feel the same way.

I know a lot of collectors have told me they haven’t turned their games on in months. The whole thing behind the arcade is that it’s ultimately a social experience. Is it really fun to own 18 games if there’s nobody else there to play them with you?

You guys all need better friends and family. Time to upgrade.
I have people over often and they always want the games turned on. Collectors who don't play the games are just hoarding stuff that is meant to be experienced and shared.
I was just in Maine visiting a friend who is also a forum member. We played tons of games. Kids were there and they played.

Play the ---smurfing--- games. If you own cabs, invite others to play.
Get out and meet people.

4 player cab is sadly at the bottom of my build list.

Probably need to have a Zapcon Hawai'i Edition to get more than 2 people here playing at once.
Usually just me and the lady of the house or me and my son.

And even more often... just me.

Ironic that the kids lament they weren't teens in the 80s-
Especially when the music, video games, movies and bmx bike stupidity they are subjected to at home is puking 1986 all day long.

But my 4 player pedestal will still honor Badmouth's signature caveat-
Relax, all right? My old man is a television repairman, he's got this ultimate set of tools! I can fix it.
