  • I want to build my own arcade controls!
I want to mod this  Nintendo Wii arcade stick so it will play on PC via USB

https://www.amazon.com.au/Wii-Tatsunoko-Capcom-Arcade-FightStick/dp/B0032ISZL8

I just want a cheap solution and I was thinking of using this one from Alliexpress

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4001347095364.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.1be951e0ETdXka&algo_pvid=b5c74495-00d8-4b9a-86c7-fe4b02f3d1ab&algo_exp_id=b5c74495-00d8-4b9a-86c7-fe4b02f3d1ab-3

It apparently has all the cables I need and a guy on Youtube said it worked well for him

But I'm wondering if anyone has done this before with a Madcatz stcik and one of these generic type controller boards and if they also managed to get the Turbo functionality working because this cheap little Alliexpess board also has a conector for that but I don't know what conectors are in the Madcatz and so I'm sceptical about this part of it but I would really like the turbo funcion for shooter games.

Thanks for your help with this :)

If I were you, I would sell that Fightstick rather than mod it since you can get quite a good amount of money and then buy something like a Mayflash fightsitck for the PC.

How much do you think it would sell for? I have also replaced the stick and buttons to all Sanwa parts. But I kept all the original parts too.

Thing is I really like the design, it's one of the nicest I have ever seen and I would like to keep it.

Is it that hard to put a new board in there?

A quick search on eBay shows that the go for around $150 USD. I haven’t opened that stick up to know how hard it is to switch the board. I did find another solution for you, a Wii to USB adapter:

thanks Jimmyu, thats very kind. I had a mayflash converter and it broke after not much use and so I bought another one, but still concerned about it breaking too. So I was thinking that a cheap internal adapter /converter would be a much nicer way overall.
