Joystick Control ID's changing - AIMTRAK to blame?
« on: April 24, 2021, 03:52:00 pm »
Hi guys,

My Joystick ID's keep changing whenever I turn on the computer. I've been able to force MAME to use one set of ID's by tweaking the CTRL file and the MAME.INI. However, the issues constantly cause me problems in other emulators, namely DeMul and the Model 2 emulator. I believe it is related to my AIMTRAK guns, as whenever I unplug them, Windows will once again recognize the proper ID (or let me reset the controls in each emulator with the issue of losing my GPWiz).

Is there a program which will force Windows to keep the same IDs? Has anyone else had this problem before? Is it actually related to my AIMTRAK guns, or is it just how windows sees the guns first, and sets them as a primary controller?
