okay, i have 22ga wire that im going to use to extend the power wires coming from my mobo so i can hook it up to a pushbutton to power on  the cab.  anyway, will these things work for connecting the stripped wires together??

Yup...
They work great to splice together 2 wires end-to-end.
I used something similar to quick disconnects for the wires coming out of my PC so I could easily detach the wires that ran to the button in the cab.  I also left the wires attached to the PC's power button so I could easily remove the PC to work on it...

But if you're looking for a permanent solution, those will work great.
