  • I want to build my own arcade controls!
I'm having an issue with DG31PR board and I tried to upgrade the GPU to a 740 and 1050 (correct part numbers Zotac 740 Model 740 ZT-71001-10L and ZOTAC MODEL ZT-P10500A-10L P/N 288-2N454-000Z8), but can’t get output through the HDMI or any output on the card, but can through the VGA connector on the MB.  But it works fine via DVI on a 7600GS card.  I thought it might be the power supply, but changing the PS to a new 500W PS made no difference.  Does the DG31PR not support HDMI?  Or am I totally missing something?

I have tested both the 740 and 1050 card in another GT, but the MB model escapes me.  It has the 6 USB ports and 4 memory slots.  So I know the cards are good and the DIP switches are set correctly on the USB Controller.

Could it be the BIOS version of the MB?  The BIOS is PRG3110H.86A.0066.2009.0518.1206, so is there a newer BIOS?  If so, anywhere to get it?  I know on my other system, it doesn't show the BIOS version when in the BIOS.

The Video card in the BIOS is set to AUTO.

The other difference is the CPU, the one that doesn't show the video is a Celeron CPU and the one that works is a Pentium processor.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

the board doesn't matter... the version of the software maters if a card is supported or not.

Code: [Select]
Zotac 740 Model 740 ZT-71001-10L GeForce GT 740 2GB GDDR5 (Part
Number 288-6N346-030Z8)
Minimum Software Requirements: Golden Tee LIVE 2015 10.04.03, GT LIVE 2014 9.04.08, GT LIVE
2013 8.05.09. (Incredible Technologies part number: 900000740R)

be sure your version is AT LEAST these version numbers for a 740... and...

Code: [Select]
 ZOTAC GTX 1050 2GB 128BIT GDDR5 MODEL ZT-P10500A-10L P/N 288-2N454-000Z8
Minimum Software Requirements: Golden Tee GOLF/LIVE 2018 13.04.06 & higher the version must
end in an even number. GTG/LIVE 2017 12.04.06 GTG/LIVE 2016 11.04.11 (Incredible Technologies
part number: 900001050)

to use the 1050 in the system.

video card drivers are explicit to force operators to buy specific cards supplied by IT. drivers were added to the golden tee OS updates later as stock dwindled and cards were replaced with new models.

video card should be set to initialize PCIe first in bios. i don't recall if it has a specific option to do that or disable the Integrated graphics.

integrated video on the motherboard only works if the CPU installed has IGPU capability. the CPU's originally installed in the GT machines do not have IGPU, which is why it only works when you swap out the CPU.

lilshawn - tanks for the reply.

The system is on GT HE 2019, but I get no BIOS boot processes on the screen and nothing after letting it boot for 5 minutes.  The processor is a Celeron 440 @ 2.00GHZ and the internal (VGA) provides the BIOS boot information when only it is plugged into the MB, haven't tried with the GPU plugged in as well.  I will double check and confirm this is the case again.

The BOS GPU setting is set to Auto.  I'll try the other settings.

I can't say for where the video cards were originally purchased, but they are the correct part #'s and the 740 and the two 1050's I have work on another GT just fine.

Thanks

The golden tee motherboards will operate into the bios at least with any videocard, it just must have a display plugged in and ready to initialize at startup. (they just don't work with the game itself.) Don't plug anything into the motherboard's IGPU monitor port.

most tv's don't properly get their input ready fast enough before the computer is ready and starting to boot, resulting in no display initialization...and by default if nothing is connected, the analog output of that device will be set as the main output (this is usually the VGA, or DVI-A output of the videocard.) screwing everything up...

I've had to wire in delay relays to allow 10 seconds or so for a TV to initialize on powerup and boot before supplying power to the computer so that the input is ready to accept signal and initialize from the computer. it's not a problem if the monitor is already powered on and ready to accept signal. (my monitors are powered from inside the cabinet and power off and on with the main power switch.)

anyways, if you are still having issues with the IGPU being initialized as the main display and not the videocard PCIe, you still have a configuration issue somewhere in the BIOS that needs to be rectified first. IGPU should not be initialized at all. (disabled if possible) so that it does not use any system resources. (mainly why the motherboards shipped with CPU's that do not support IGPU.)

I went into the BIOS and under the VGA display there are only a couple options, changing any of those doesn't matter.  If I put the 7600GT card(s) in, I get DVI output and the MB detects the PEG Neg Width as X16, if I put the 740 or 1050 in, I get no output whatsoever and plug the VGA into the built in port, I see the BIOS and the PEG Neg Width is blank.  I tried a GT 730 card, same result.  I know the 730 isn't supported by IT/GT, but just to test the PCIE in BIOS, I thought I would give it a shot.  So that tells me the MB/BIOS isn't seeing the cards at all.  I wonder if there is a BIOS upgrade that might fix this, I know from past experiences it can make a difference, the only issue is finding a newer BIOS for that old MB and not knowing if it will make a difference.

As suspected, it was something with that motherboard since I couldn't get BIOS off the 740 and 1050 GPU.  I ordered a DH61CR off eBay, but the USB controller was bad and I would get a incorrect dipswitch error for 1080p.  So I ordered a DG965SS motherboard, and everything fired right up just fine with all three GPU's I have for HDMI.

Thanks for your help in assisting me, much appreciated.
