The problem that I mentioned before about the apostrophe character breaking the thing is what caused that previous error.

So that this won't happen again, I placed the apostrophe character on the 'bad words filter'

After some basic testing, it looks like it works pretty well. If an apostrophe is used, it will be replaced with an asterisk.

Sounds kinda weird I know, but it has something to do with PHP and this particluar application. They're working on correcting it in the future version (2.0) but there is no planned date for it's release, and the other solution is not trivial.

I have a 1941 custom marquee in PSD! The file weights 26mb and i want to share it in your site! I only see one solution, compress the image to a BMP file!

What do you think!?

your custom marque is great, but

1) IMHO I think that the vector library should stick with vetor files only.
2) compression induce quality lost

IMHO, there should be only one vector repository! But ok, go ahead and good luck, i'll try to help if i can!  :)

yes I fully agree ;-)

it should be only one central repository. THE REFERENCE.
but also they should be some kind of mirror, backups, or wathever you want to call it.

just consider the vector library as the master and some other as mirror.

I don't see anything wrong with posting non-vector files.

I think they should be kept separate, however. If we allow non-vector stuff, It should only be high-quality, hi-res printable art.

As far as compression goes.... Compression can reduce quality. If you begin with a high res file, and compress it with lossy compression (JPG, MP3) you will reduce quality. Whether the end user can tell the difference is another story. If we post 6-10 mb .jpg files that started from high-res files they will be print worthy. They will be a strain on my bandwidth. I think we should make these files available as long as I have the space & the bandwidth available, though.

If we do allow it, we should do the following;

1. I should post a detailed primer / tutorial on file size, compression methods, and color

2.  We should create a segregated non-vector section, with detailed instructions on what kind of files we are looking for, and the quality we expect.

As long as people understand what they are downloading, I see no harm.

I am going to reimpliment the interface enhancements soon. For now, to correct the rediculous apostrophe issue, I am reverting to the original templates, echh.

In the meantime the thing should  work well for you all.

I'm looking for the round "MAME" logo download.
I've looked at the library but its not there.
Anyone have it?
Thanks.

Working on the templates. It's all working. Just a bit messy for a while. Slowly but surely.

I think the thumbnails are out of control. Limiting the size to 150 or 200 pixels, in my opinion, is the way to go.

I have a huge monitor running at 1280x1024 and I still cannot fit them all on the screen.

Please reconsider. Aesthetically, it will be better too.

I completely agree with you on the bad aesthetics. I'm a web designer by trade, and I know the look & feel really sux.

It's something I'm working on, but it will take some time to clean up the interface from both a creative & technical standpoint.

Right now I'm just concentrating on getting artwork up there, and ironing out some bugs.

I actually use 4images for something else. The look and feel of the interface is not bad at all. If there was a uniform width to the thumbnails, it would all fall into place.

Thanks for your efforts.

Let me know how you'd like it. :) Currently it only works properly in Illustrator 9 or higher. I can customize it and send you a hi rez jpeg or layered Photoshop file if you can't read AI 9+ files. I've been meaning to post it somewhere along with other stuff I've been working on, but haven't gotten around to it.  :-\
