I recently picked up this cab because it had a great vertical CRT in it. My plan is to restore it as a new home for my Arcade SD, but it didn't come complete... it's pretty beat and is missing the marquee and some plexi, etc. It was also hacked by the previous owner.
I'm trying to plan how to restore it, but there are a few details I'm not entirely clear on. If I could find pictures of some original games that came in this style of cab I could use them as a reference, but I haven't been able to find any. It looks like the CP was originally cut for a trackball, which is now empty and covered by the CPO.

Right now, I have these two specific questions:
1. How is the CP supposed to be secured to the cab? Right now there are two wood screws through the top, but certainly that's not the original design. To the best of my ability to tell, the back was always screwed on so it's not designed for easy access. And the coin doors are solid. How is the CP supposed to be opened and closed? I see that there are two holes at the top and corresponding holes in the cab but there's no hardware so it's not clear how or if those were used.
2. There's a strip below the marquee and above the CP which is currently a piece of spray painted plywood. What's supposed to go there? It's too high for the marquee to sit on it and it doesn't seem like the CPO would run up that high. Is a piece of trim missing?
I'm probably going to end up replacing the entire hinged kick panel because some of it is falling apart. Does anyone make these? If I could get the replacement panels already laminated that would save me a lot of effort and probably look better in the end.
The interior surfaces of the cab are all raw plywood and it looks like they were painted with a paintbrush. Is there a recommended method of improving that surface finish in the visible areas? I assume there's some sort of laminate or adhesive-backed vinyl that would work better than sanding and repainting.
Any guidance to get me pointed in the right direction would be appreciated. I'm sure looking at pictures of an original complete cabinet would answer a lot of questions.
Also, what games would have originally used this cab? I haven't decided on a theme yet but could go full repro.
