Rowe/AMI CD-100G help with light control box
« on: January 08, 2021, 06:06:04 pm »
Look... I hate being 'that guy' who shows up and my first post is asking for help... But I got no choice.

So I've got a CD-100G that's been working fine since I refurb'ed it a while back. My work was on the 'mechanical' parts of it, and the lights always worked fine (after replacing about half the bulbs).

Other day I flip it on and the 'twinkle lights' (the little #73 bulbs inside the door) just nothing. No 'pop' or smoke, no error codes... just no twinkle lights. (The fluorescent tubes still work fine, as does all else).

I've checked the power IN to the lighting control box and it's there. But the 'power' LED on the box is not lit, and no power coming out.

Obviously, next step is crack the sucker open and start seeing what I can find inside.

I have the manuals, but regrettably reading schematics is not in my wheelhouse.

Wondering/hoping someone here may have suggestions on where to start / what to check.

Thanks in advance.

KC

it has its own internal power supply. (fed by 120v AC via the 3 terminal black green white connector)

check you have 120v on the black/white wires and if you do, i believe the box has a fuse in it. see if it's toast. if it is you may have a more serious issue in there. but you can always change it out and go for broke and see if it blows again. just don't wrap it in tin foil and stick it back in there...get a proper same fuse.
