Street Figher Machine Question
« on: February 23, 2004, 12:05:33 am »
Hey guys im new to this whole arcade machine thing and have recently aquired a working Street Fighter: the movie machine. I was wondering if anyone here knew anything about it such as what other boards I could stick in it or where I could find more info about this type of stuff. Thanks!!

Well if that a JAMMA cabinet, which I'm almost certain it will be, you can put pretty much any modern game in it by buying the PCB's for it.

JAMMA is an arcade standard if you aren't familiar with it, although others on this board can explain it much better than I. Basically, you'd just need to replace the SF boards with new ones.

As for info, you're on a great site full of it. Go read the rest of the site, and the other posts on this forum. You'll learn a LOT

EDIT: http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?letter=&game_id=9829  There's some info about your game on that link. It is a JAMMA game, so you're set to put in any other game that is JAMMA.

Basically any arcade board made after 1986 that uses joysticks and has a horizontal monitor (which is easily 80 percent of them), will work in your cabinet.

There are of course exceptions to that rule, but it will largely hold true.

lol yea SF:TM isnt too good of a game which is why I wanted to know what other boards I could stick in it. and question: 1.) on some things I see JAMMA+ and then on other I see JAMMA... will both work in that system? and 2.) I was looking at this ebay auction for metal slug ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3275584271&category=3945 ) and it says its "Metal Slug 4 Neo Geo PCB JAMMA MVS " what exactly does that mean? and would it work in my machine?
