Happ Trackball sensor advice needed
« on: November 27, 2020, 01:16:24 pm »
Hi I realised my Happ Ball was not moving on the X Axis very handily, just stuttered across the screen. After much trouble shooting I think it is the sensor board, the reason I changed the two boards around and now it's the Y axis doing the stuttering, and the X axis is fine. This seems right yeah? cant be wiring as I never changed the 4 pin connectors, I'm asking as I don't want to order a new part and it may be something i have overlooked. Also I'm in the UK and can only source them in the US and shipping isn't cheap if anyone knows where else I could source one. Also the only ones avail are Rev C where I have Rev D, but thinking this will not be an issue. Any help much appreciated

Theres no way you can win? There is always a way!!

Sounds reasonable to me, but-

Maybe someone will chime in with a way to put a meter on that board and properly diagnose it as bad before you just order another?

May also be easy to fix if you find out what is wrong.

Not much to those things really!
Relax, all right? My old man is a television repairman, he's got this ultimate set of tools! I can fix it.

it's the encoder board. First check for poor solder joints.
