Anyone tried hacking a Pole Position PCB?
« on: June 13, 2002, 10:33:01 am »
Has anybody tried hacking a Pole Position steering wheel PCB?  It look like a Track ball PCB, but bigger with more components on the board.  I tried hooking it up with my track ball/ spinner connector that I made from a hacked mouse, but it didn't seem to work?  Any idea's?

you can just gut a mouse and line up the optics to the encoder wheel of the pole wheel.  thats the way my pole2 mame cab ran for years...

All you need to do is wire in the opto from the wheel into a mouse board. It works if done correctly.

They were really ahead of the curve.. The damn ARPANet hasn't been fully live three months yet and they're already wasting the governments time on a forum talking about arcade games that haven't been invented yet.

Nah, I saw him with a Delorean and some white haired guy called "doc" or something.  Come to think of it, they look a lot like a pair of guys I saw with the same car in 1985.
