How is it that I haven't replied to this yet?
Where to start...
I was very excited to help out with Mike's Star Trek Captains chair, it's kind of a holy grail for me, so just to get to see it in person and work on it was special. Mike was very accommodating to both bperkins and my obsession with perfection and he let us run a little wild. I'm sure he had to bite his tongue more than once. Despite my expectation that we'd be playing it on the last day (I always underestimate time) we made good progress and I am pumped to see how it turns out.
Not only did Mike make shirts for the occasion, but he bought extra tools for the event so we could all work simultaneously. He also had rewired outlets in the ceiling so we could easily access power. I am blown away by the shop, I will need to take out a small mortgage just to satisfy my desire for parity (ain't happening).
He had his local friends cook for us almost every night and had parties setup to blow off steam from a days work.
I always learn a ton when visiting his place as the number of machines necessitates ongoing repairs. He let's me play around on all his stuff (even though he knows if it was the reverse I'd probably be micro managing the ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- out of him).
He and bperkins are good friends, we always have a blast when we get together.
Oh and he made sure I had a steady supply of beer at all times:
