SpinTrak Spinner - Flyweight? USB?
« on: September 17, 2020, 11:36:39 am »
I'm about to push the button on a SpinTrak spinner.  I've got a top already but I was wondering if the flyweight is necessary or if the spinner works just fine on its own.

Also, I am planning on NOT getting the USB attachment because I have an iPac2 and from what I can tell, I can plug the SpinTrak directly into the iPac and it will work.

Any thoughts?  Also, for those of you who have this spinner what do you think?

Weight is strictly a 'feel' issue.  I was replacing a Tornado spinner and Andy recommended the large weight to approximate the same feel and it was just right (for me).

My Spintrak is plugged directly into the IPac2 and it works so no need to pay for the USB interface.

I went with the large weight, I like the feel. But it will soon fine without. I prefer the weight to keep the momentum going.

Thanks.  I went with the "small" flyweight, no USB and no top.  Should be here in a few days.  I have never had a spinner before so I probably won't know the difference.

I have a top already from a Tornado spinner I bought like 15 years ago and could never get set up properly.
