Backing Up/Copying 2006 Golden Tee Fore! Complete Hard Drive to SD
« on: September 16, 2020, 09:09:42 am »
Good morning everyone, it's been a while! Longtime lurker, rare poster.

The hard drive in my pal's 2006 Golden Tee Fore! Complete is starting to sound like a jet engine and looks to be on the way out.

I own the same machine and purchased the SD card replacement https://www.arcadeservices.com/compact-flash-cards.html to replace my hard drive. However they have stopped international shipping (to Canada) and to purchase through ebay with shipping is super expensive. I would rather purchase from this site but it's out of the budget for my pal thanks to ebay's shipping prices.

Has anyone figured out to to clone the hard drive or use a backup and copy it to an SD Card? I have google it extensively to a lot of old posts and mostly negative results. The IDE adapter to SD can be found, it's the SD card thats the issue.

Hope to get some light shed on this. Thanks!

I have an idea, from having to clone sd cards for my Raspberry Pi experimenting.

I use a tool on windows called AOMEI Partition Assistant. It has a Clone drive tool. So if you could connect the SD and and the Drive via an IDE-to-USB cable, I think you'd be able to do it that way!

Thanks for the idea!

Unfortunately it did not work. I used a IDE to USB adapter I have that I tested with another drive to ensure that it worked. After that I connected the Golden Tee drive. No dice. Master, slave. Doesn't matter. Doesn't show in Computer/Hard Drive Management either. I even pulled a working drive from a pal who owns a machine and it didn't show.

It was worth the try! Thank you!
