Ultimarc Ultimate IO Power options
« on: August 27, 2020, 06:45:28 am »
Hi

This board has a 5v molex connector marked LED Power.

Does anyone know if this is required for non-led setups? ie: Can the board run the keyboard encoder off USB power only.

I have a USB cable running to the front of the cabinet but routing a second power cable would be a pain.

Thanks
Brett

An encoder-only setup draws very little current compared to an encoder + LEDs setup.

No LEDs ==> no need for an LED power source.

The encoder portion of the board will run just fine off USB power only.   ;D

Awesome Scott!

You just saved a whole bunch of unnecessary woodwork.

Thanks for making the effort and have a great weekend.
