kade 2.0 help
« on: August 24, 2020, 09:27:51 am »
i been trying to figure out why my kade dont work good with the og xbox and i am a point that aim going to sell them .
i tried reflashing one of them ,bought brand new cables , some games wont load < when i plug in kade player 2 some games have black screen but the xbox is not frozen ,when i unplug kade player 2 and leave player 1 all games load no black screen
after reflashing player 2 kade some games stil wont load .i know its hard to believe but it realy is ,i have 0 problems with kade 2.0 for player 1 ,but player 2 kade does not want to load some games ,is it a power problem ? i unplugged everything in my arcade cabinet ,just monitor and xbox nothing else
player 1 usb cable works perfect on player 1 kade ,so i tried to use that cable on the player 2 kade some games just wont load .if the problem was the og xbox than both kade's would have the same problem .
iam lost 🤔🙏

and another thing ,when i plug in the kade player 2 i try to load a game the hdd makes a click sound and than black screen ,but the hdd is brand new and fine
when i do the same thing but this time with kade player 1 there is no clicking sound from the hdd ,all games load fine ! .so this must be somekind of power problem with the kade !? i live in the netherlands we use 220v

i contacted the maker bruno and he told me this
Hi there!

It really looks like a power problem. Are you sure you don't have a short circuit (GND attached to VCC) on the P2 kade? Also, does both kade work on the PC when connected together? (make sure their output is set to auto-detect in order to the PC to detect them).

i chekked all the cables ground is in the correct terminal ,so are the buttons and stick
aim lost any one can help me please i have been trying to fix this sins last year ,
i chekked player 2 ground wires and they are all connecterd corect so do the buttons and stick
iam lost help please

That is a very odd set of symptoms.   :dizzy:

To troubleshoot your setup, you might want to try these steps:

1. Disconnect all ground and button input wires from the P2 KADE miniArcade 2.0.

2. Re-check the P2 PCB for any solder bridges or stray wire strands that could cause a short.

3. Plug in your P2 PCB (USB only, no ground or button wires) to XBox P1 and see if it boots up properly.
- If it boots up properly, skip to step 4.
- If you see the same "HDD click and black screen" problem as before, the problem is with the encoder.
-- There could be a short that you haven't found or the AVR could have suffered ESD (electrostatic discharge) damage or perhaps the AVR could be incorrectly mounted to the daughterboard. (i.e. shifted one pin forward/backward on the riser pins)
-- If the AVR is correctly mounted and you can't find a short using your multimeter, that leaves replacing the AVR.

Unfortunately, MattairTech stopped taking orders as of July 5, 2020 so you won't be able to use an MT-DB-U4 unless and until he starts taking orders again.   :banghead:

4. Plug in both P1 (fully wired) and P2 (USB only, no ground or button wires) encoders and boot up the XBox.
- If it doesn't boot properly,  :dunno.

5. Connect the ground wire(s) to the P2 encoder and boot up the XBox.
- If it doesn't boot properly, your wiring problem is somewhere in the ground wire daisy-chain.

6. Connect two or three input wires to the P2 encoder, boot up the XBox, and test those inputs.
- If it doesn't boot/test properly, your wiring problem is with one of those inputs.
- Repeat step 6 until all input connections are made and tested.

2. Re-check the P2 PCB for any solder bridges or stray wire strands that could cause a short.chekked looks fine to me

3. Plug in your P2 PCB (USB only, no ground or button wires) to XBox P1 and see if it boots up properly.<boots fine games work 0 problems
- If it boots up properly, skip to step 4.
- If you see the same "HDD click and black screen" problem as before, the problem is with the encoder.

5. Connect the ground wire(s) to the P2 encoder and boot up the XBox.
- If it doesn't boot properly, your wiring problem is somewhere in the ground wire daisy-chain.<boots fine with ground wire p2 only all games boot fine

6. Connect two or three input wires to the P2 encoder, boot up the XBox, and test those inputs. << TESTING THIS PART NOW TAKES SOME TIME WIL REPORT BACK
- If it doesn't boot/test properly, your wiring problem is with one of those inputs.
- Repeat step 6 until all input connections are made and tested.
