  • I want to build my own arcade controls!
I've been googling around and I'm not the only one who has complained. There seems to be a problem with the deadzone that was never fixed. I have played it on Xbox One with the same wheel and it's fine. Messing with the settings doesn't fix the issue. I just tried Forza Horizon 3 and by default it had the same issue but I was able to fix it by changing the deadzone. It's where you are trying to balance the car by going one way then the other and so you're all over the place and the experience is not good.

Here is an example from someone on the Forza Forums who says changing the deadzone in settings doesn't work.

I've been experiencing issues setting up my logitech g920 in Forza Horizon 4. I don't know if its just me or this is an actual problem with the wheel system but the wheel dead zones don't seem to change no matter how you set them. Right now no matter what I change the setting too there's is like 20 degrees of arc from dead-center where the game doesn't sense wheel input until i turn the wheel 10 degrees left or right. This is really hindering driving with a wheel. I cant corner smoothly the dead space leaves a huge lag time between starting to steer and actual steering starting in the game. It makes it hard to make fine corrections with steering input. the only thing that kinda helps is lowering the total degree of turning from say 600 degrees to 270. this results in less dead zone in the center but in result your just jerking the wheel from side to side like you would on the controller. at 900 degrees there's even a greater degree of arc where no steering input occurs it suddenly comes on like 25 degrees from center and veers you into a wall. it's super annoying I hope they update the steering wheel advance setting in Forza 4 before it opens up to the general pop on. I love Forza and im fine playing with a controller but let's be honest wheels are a lot more satisfying.

I wish someone could make a plugin like Boomslang does for emulated games, but it's probably more difficult I would guess for a PC game like this.

This is the fix you're looking for. Totally transforms the feel of the game and delivers much improved force feedback effects. Go to their discord:

After I made this thread I kept googling and found that and I've been using it. For me it gives me the opposite problem of the wheel not moving enough. It's probably because I don't know what I'm doing with these settings.

After I followed the guides advice of inverting force feedback in the game it's somewhat better. But if I let go of the accelerator I can't turn anymore?

I'm not sure, but I can tell you that there are a LOT of settings to adjust and if you don't spend some time setting things up properly, it won't feel right. I would go to the Forza EmuWheel discord and get help from FirstPatoLV. He's the developer and will be happy to answer any questions of have.

Would you mind telling me your settings? That is if you have it setup. I'm pretty sure that would be all I would need if yours is working properly.
