IPAC 4 Going crazy after an update
« on: May 13, 2020, 10:56:09 am »
Hi, purchased an IPAC 4 several days ago and it has been working great up until i installed pcx2 emulator.  Now the Ipac 4 is spitting out 231423142314 non stop.  I thought maybe it was a short so i unplugged all the wiring and still does the same thing.  Even when no buttons are wired into the IPAC it continues to type 2314 in a text document.  Is there a way to hard reset this thing without plugging it in? Maybe a jumper or something because I don't know how i could reset it via the software if it keeps firing this button sequence.

Thanks

The fact it only started happening after you installed a piece of software would indicate to me that its the software at fault not the board.

Unfortunately I have literally no idea how to fix that!

You could try uninstalling the driver for it in windows then plugging it back in see if thst helps?

Uninstall everything related to PCX2 emulator. If the problem isn't resolved, talk to Andy.

I had an I-PAC2 that was going nutso on occasion, come to find out I had connected a cherry switch on momentary open instead of momentary closed (so basically the button was pressed all the time), yet for some reason the problem was rather intermittent, just occasionally out of nowhere i would start getting random button presses, yet most times it would work fine.

While its probably a software issue, its worth verifying the connections on all of your switches, just to eliminate that as a possible culprit.
