How to setup Daytona LAN for complete dummies
« on: April 09, 2020, 01:32:10 am »
Hi all,

I am trying to figure out how to run a multiplayer Daytona game using LAN.

The game is running but I don't know where to get the rxport and nextport numbers from. I think the rxport is my port and the nextport is the other computers port. And I think the nextIP is the other computers IP.
However, when I type in netstat -n I get about 1000 IPs and all different ports. So I don't know which one to select. Is there an easier way to check which port to use. I even tried logging into my routers server but it doesn't tell you which ports are being used.
Maybe its as simple as just using the default numbers already in the Model 2 ini file and just changing them for slave and master, I'll try it and post back if it works.

Some very basic instructions would be much appreciated. I know there are instructions here but they just tell you to put port numbers in, they don't say where to get them from and how to choose the right one.

Thanks very much,

RxPort=1978
NextIP=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
NextPort=1978

Update, I got it working!

For other noobs: Just use the default ports and change the value by one per machine. Easy.
