Hyperspin/Pi Help
« on: February 20, 2020, 07:20:33 pm »
Hey Guys,

So just joined and building my cabinet and now at a cross roads..do I go Hyperspin PC or Pi.

I LOVEEE the Hyperspin front end. In terms of games, I am NOT looking for PC, Playstation etc this is what I want:

MAME
NES
SNES
Megadrive
Dreamcast
N64

Thats kinda it..

So if PC, can I get away with

i3 3.4ghz, 8gb ramm, nvidia 710 or similar will the Hyperspin front end also run smoothly on that or judder/slow down?

Or do you guys suggest for what I want I should just go with Pi?

That PC will run Hyperspin. As far as it running smooth, you may need to make a few concessions, but honestly, it has too much razz'ma'tazz, so turning off a couple layers isn't going to take away much.

  • No. It's your top score on Pole Position.

Don't expect a Pi to run any N64 ****** smoothly.  And don't worry about Hyperspin.  It is just a front end.  Google what N64 ****** you want to use and read up on the system requirements.  That will tell you what PC you are going to need.

I run Hyperspin on Core2Duos, so you should be fine.

Let me clarify.  When I say dont worry about Hyperspin I mean dont worry about it eating up much computing power.  Any good high end N64****** will.  If you can fit a PC in your cabinet go that route.
