New Source for parts and cabinets--Canadian
« on: February 17, 2004, 06:52:01 am »
Thanks to civic83 who put me in touch with an operator in southwestern ontario that is now very keen on supplying parts to the canadian and US markets.  He's been in the coin op businees for over 20 years and has accumulated 2 warehouses worth of stuff that he is interested in selling.  I visited his main warehouse yesterday just to see what he had and this is the run down.  All of this is available for sale as well as lots of other stuff he probably has that I didn't see:

flatpacked cabinets--entire cabinet as seen here (snatched from civic83's post last month  ;))  this includes the entire cabinet with plexi for the monitor area as well as the marquee.--he has 60 of these and is very interetsed in mailing them away

original calssic cabs, I saw pacman, ms. pacman, tron, galaxian, zaxxon, 1943, space invaders, and a ton more--all in fair to good condition--some have peeling stickers and a few scratches.

19" arcade monitors by the dozen--some need repairs but if you specified you needed a working one, I'm sure that could be arranged.

ATARI CONE BUTTONS!!!  yes there was even a box of these there--both with and without the translucent red part.

wico ball top shafts and complete joys--he had boxes and boxes of these

original marquees, boards, power supplies, control panels for a bunch of games

bartop poker games etc--would make great mini-mame's

spinners, trackballs, specialty sticks (no tron sticks though)

leaf buttons as well as microswitch buttons--used and new

Anyways, his name is pete and can be reached at cancoin@sympatico.ca --Email him a request and see if he has what you need.

Hey! A Chrysler hub cap!!!!!

Seriously though, that's awesome news. I love to hear things like this.

Where's he located? Are cabinets available for pick up, or is it shipping only?

Cabinets (full ones) are probably pick up only until he gets an idea on how shipping a complete cab is done--the flat packed cabs would be shippable.  He's in brantford, so its not a long drive but make arrangements ahead of time--and pick me up on the way--never miss a chance to go to arcades 'r' us  ;D

We should probably not bombard him with different emails. Maybe make Menace a communicator between us and him. That is how most operators get burned out, by millions of people hoping to "score" a deal.

i warned him that he might be parted to death but he seemed ok with it--for whole cabs he would prefer one at a time sales so he can keep track of who is in his warehouse--I would prefer if you dealt with him directly--that way I'm not in the middle of potential disputes.--In my dealings he has been square and reasonable.  Civic83 can also be used as a reference.

any chance he'll start ebaying parts? (that way while we may not score the deal of the century, at least we get to see the parts he has...)

personally, I don't know I need something until  I see it and go, "I want that!"

unless someone could go through the joint with a digital camera,
(...hey, *you're* someone!..<vbg!> )

The person could go through, take pics of piles of control panels, groups of games, pics down into boxes of joys/buttons/spinners, spread out the stacks of marquees - whatever works with amount of time vs. amount of "stuff" - and put them up on a page to be perused by us mailorder (non-local) folks..:-)

He could shoot the person with the camera a couple bucks, or a cab, or parts, or beer, or ? , and he'd get many more bites with specific concrete requests  than if we had to think up stuff we want..

More of "I want to buy this." and less of "Do you have any of this?"

I dunno, just a thought - and both the Op and the camera guy would win..as well as potential buyers.. (I'd volunteer in a heartbeat, but I live in BC..:-(

Pull a year and a half strike- it's over 4eva..
besides, WHL rocks!

I'll run the picture idea by him and see what he says--as far as e-bay goes--I've given my experiences to him (all positive) so I think that is eventualy how he's going to go about it.

I've had over 250 transactions on eBay, all great.. until recently.

The difference was that the item in question was not a small item that Canada Post can ship, or even UPS can handle.

But rather a 2000$US 24" Sony Monitor that I sold.   Do you know what it takes to get UPS involved with insurance after they mess up and destroy an item in the shipping process!???

He better ready to run around handling a lot of insurance claims if he is to ship any big electronic items.

Not trying to discourage him from selling on eBay, but make him also aware of worst case screnarios.

Has anyone gotten a response from him? It's been a day or so since I emailed him a question. I hope we aren't flooding him, that would just anger him more than it would help us.

Still no response from him. Just curious, has he talked to anyone yet? Or did he get bombarded with our emails?
Or is he hitting the Ebay scene?

Unfortunately, I don't think he spends as much time in front of the computer as the rest of us--you may have to be patient--My brother is still waiitng on an answer on some pricing and he's looking to buy some whole machines--were you looking for prices or availability of something--I've been through his warehouse so I can tell you (roughly)what he has but sadly not what its price is.

Brantford is about an hour away, that's pretty close really.  And hey, a cab/parts grab, sounds like fun.  Add a barbeque and beer to the mix: Heaven!

Vids:  Home built MAME machine, Crystal Castles. Arkanoid
Pins:   Williams Aztec (working). Stern Nugent (not working...yet), Williams Phoenix (major not working, missing parts.... )

Always on the lookout for buying 90's game with Ramps that need work...

I am in the Woodbridge, Ontario area and doing a Pacman cocktail restoration for a raffle at a charity event.  I am looking for the following parts if you have:

I am working on a very important restoration of an original Pacman cocktail arcade for a charity event. We are keeping in tune with having everything on this restoration FULLY original. The parts we are looking for would need to be original and in FANTASTIC condition. The parts needed are listed below:

1. Complete original power supply with transformers and board in excellent condition
2. The 2 white/opaque plexi's at control panels
3. Missing original wooden base in excellent condition (Please see attached pic to refer to missing base, and base needed)
4. The 3 original speaker plates in excellent condition.

Willing to pay top dollar, but it is for charity, so I don't wanna get hosed either if you know what I mean!

My email is sasha@phyzex.com. Please email me detailed pics, item condition, and your best price.

Best regards,
Sasha Sekretov

Anyways, his name is pete and can be reached at cancoin@sympatico.ca --Email him a request and see if he has what you need.

how about you learn to stop necro bumping posts first? Just because you are inept at reading dates and locating parts doesnt make it my job to find them for you.

Wow, I guess there is nothing I can say to make this civil.

Cheers,

All the best to you.

I read and replied aptly to your post. Just because you are inept at reading dates and locating parts doesnt make it my job to find them for you. I believe my reply was very civil considering you've bumped numerous old posts multiple times even after being told to check the dates. If I had Pacman cocktail parts I'd give them to you just so you would stop necrobumping, but all I have is a stand up Ms.PacMan.
