BlueHID IOS Support and Firmware Updates
« on: February 12, 2020, 07:32:18 pm »
I recently purchased an Ultimarc BlueHID with the intent of interfacing it to an IPAD.  The Ultimarc support site suggested I try this forum first.  The IPAD is able the successfully pair however switch closures do not result in any activity.  I setup the BlueHID with a single switch, keypress of 'U', Down Action: Normal Primary, Up Action: Clear and then on the IPAD opened up Notes app and no text is entered.  The IPAD is running IOS 13.3.  If I pair the BlueHID to a Windows 10 Machine everything works perfectly.  This led me to look at the BlueHID firmware version which is currently reported as 1.10.  The latest firmware posted is 1.5.  Perhaps the latest firmware will resolve my IPAD interface issue.

This brings me to a second problem.  How to update BlueHID firmware from 1.10 to 1.5 on a Windows 10 Machine? I am aware the special process located here (http://www.u-hid.com/u-config/BlueHID_upgrade.pdf) however the instructions are written for Windows 7.  I'm getting hung up on the step where it instructs the user to open Device Manager, locate "Bluetooth Radios", and “CSR Bluetooth Radio”.  I am unable to see a “CSR Bluetooth Radio” entry.  I do see a "Ultimarc BlueHID" entry however substituting that in the process does not work.

In summary:
1) Has anyone interfaced a BlueHID to an IPAD?
2) Has anyone updated BlueHID firmware using a Windows 10 machine?

Thanks in advance.
