Spintrak and Utrack
« on: December 14, 2019, 02:02:33 pm »
Hi
I have both the spintrack and the utrack in my arcade cabinet.
They both have the little usb boards.

2 questions:

1 - When I plug them in the little green light comes on but then goes off immediately. Is this right? The spinner and trackball work, but I'm thinking maybe there's not enough power going them or something.

2 - The spintrack stops working sometimes, it seems that if I fiddle with the wire that goes into the actual unit it starts working again. Does this mean it has a dodgy connection or would it have something to do with question 1?

Thanks

Hope I can help. Not sure about the light. I have a UTrak as well and I’ll check if my light stays on or off when I get home.

The spinner getting disconnected from Windows? This might be a USB power problem. How many components are on your CP? I have four U360s, a spinner, trackball, two lightguns, a wheel and two gamepads. I went through three powered USB hubs before I could get them all to work. I believe Windows has a USB limit, and it might have something to do with your port being 2.0 instead of 3.

If that’s not the case, it could likely be some loose soldering on the cable port on the board.

Light on and off is fine.   I worked with Andy on my utrac over at ultimarc.  Mine would also show up in device manager as vendor unrecognized or something.  I had to buy a new usb board.  Andy was gonna have me do a firmware on it.  But it wouldn’t go, and it was 5 years old and the new board was 20$. So I bought 2 so I have a backup.

I would work with Andy at ultimarc, he’s the man.

I just bought my spintrak so I can verify the lights comes on and then goes off.  I Seems to work ok.

I have not put it to the test for quality yet but I will keep an eye on it's performance as my cabinet build progresses.
