Golden Tee Unplugged (Live) 2009 Boot Loop Problem
« on: November 15, 2019, 09:14:19 pm »
I have a Golden Tee 2009 unplugged, which is pretty much the same as the LIVE edition. I do not get any video from the video card to the screen. If I plug a computer monitor directly into the motherboard VGA port, I can see that Linux is trying to boot. Everything says it is okay, but as soon as it should launch the game and things should start to appear on the video card and screen, I get a strange error message in linux and then the system reboots itself. I suspect it is a CID problem but I am not completely sure. If anyone has any ideas I would really appreciate it. The CID does have a green LED that continues to flash so it is getting power, and I did try new USB cables but that did not help. My machine will actually Boot and work about one out of every 20-30 times I try to start it up, but starting today it will not work at all. Does this look like a CID chip problem? Thank you for your help I really appreciate it.

the nighthawk system does sometimes do a couple reboots to do file housekeeping and whatnots. (i've personally experienced 4 reboots before booting to the game) if it continues to do so, it may be indicative of an issue coming up with the hard drive.

also check your bios battery. if something has been enabled in the bios that is normally disabled, it'll freak out the OS trying to figure out what to do with it. (drivers etc.)

also try plugging your CID into another USB port. i've seen ports go bad on boards before. nothing needs to be plugged into any specific ports, the OS finds everything just fine no matter what port it's plugged into.

It was a bad video card. Got a new one and an upgrade to 2019. Works great. Shout out to the awesome support people at IT Games. They knew right away and were very helpful over the phone. Great company and people.
