Well, the cabs won't be EXACTLY the same as what I've built myself over the past year and a half....
The plan is to redesign slightly, using what I've learned on my cab. The kits will probably be available only in black at first, and there may be an option to have the outside panels laminated in other colors for the full cabs.
As far as controls, I am talking to Charlie at GameCabs to hopefully have him make the yokes for my cabs. I am still waiting for him to build up stock again so I can get my hands on a test model.
Colored Tron sticks will probably not be an option, unless I can find a source for them. As far as I know, the guy who made mine is not making more. Also, the price was a little high if you consider that you can get the gray grips from Happ for under $20 each. They also just barely scrape under my monitor shelf during rotation, so I may switch over to the Virtual-On style shells from for the trigger sticks.
For now, I am planning to start with just the kits, since no installation of parts is involved, and I don't have to worry about coordinating all those parts orders from Happ, Wells Gardner, Ultimarc, GameCabs etc... The kits will be a good starting point I think. Once things are rolling smoothly with production, I will start cranking out the full cabs (assuming the orders are there.)
BTW, my cab is exactly 27" wide, which is about standard for most older fighters. It probably looks narrower because it is so deep (about 32"). It feels like there's enough room when I play against my wife, but I will be bringing my cab to work soon, which will help me test whether the size is really good, and I'll also see how well people are able to switch panels without my supervision...
I welcome any suggestions since I am still in the startup phase and nothing is set in stone just yet...
