Happ vinyl: to prime or not to prime

I plan on covering most of my MDF based cab with Happ self adhesive vinyl, and then painting a few parts. Is there any reason to prime the MDF where the vinyl will be?
Thanks

No, but I'd give it a sanding then wipe it down first. I put adhesive vinyl on a custom CP and it stayed very well.
