2005 Build - First fault!
« on: November 02, 2019, 09:44:30 am »
Hi, been a long time since I've been on this awesome forum! Built my MAME cab back in 2005 it's been used pretty much daily in the reception at my work and has only just given up, well the Hantarex MTC9000 chassis has died. Anyone know anyone in the UK that I could send the chassis to for repair? I've asked a couple of local TV repair shops but they'll only work on LCD TV's.

If under 40, they probably don't know how a CRT works. Head over to the monitor/video subfo and explain the symptoms. It may be easier to fix than you think.

Pretty sure on the ukvac forums there might be someone who can help. I think theres a guy called 'gunblade' who does arcade monitors.

If it’s the original chassis, recapping it should probably bring it to life.

Thanks for the replies, I did think after posting I probably put this in the wrong section ??? I'll have a look around then, I did recap it in 2005 as the picture was terrible and couldn't adjust the width down and has been perfect up until a few weeks ago.
I got hold of a scan line generator and was considering using an LCD but it takes away the feel of a real arcade machine without a glowing CRT in there.. otherwise I've got a £30 chinese replacement chassis and a couple of tubes to have a play with to see what the quality is with that. Really want the Hantarex back up and running though. :D
