How to connect coin door
« on: September 28, 2019, 11:09:41 pm »
Hi,
I am trying to figure out how to connect old HAPP coin door to arcade. I bought what appears to be a 2006 SilkStik arcade cabinet with all the guts but mame PC. It came in with pre-installed and pre-wired coin door that has bunch of connectors wired in.
Should it be connected to some kind of controller that would be wired in to Play 1 and 2 pins on I-Pac board?
There is also a counter and small frame with two red buttons on it (last pic), is that for counting coins and reseting the counter?

Many thanks in advance!

If you're just looking to get it to credit up MAME when a coin is dropped in... Wire orange/violet to Coin1, blue/violet to Coin2, and black to GND. Good luck!

The red buttons are probably service buttons. One will add a credit on coin1, the other on coin2.

This ^

The 2 red buttons will be Test and Or Service switches.
And yeah the counter is to count coins.

Ah yes, one could be a test button. Can't tell without seeing what they're wired up to.
