Done, Igrosoft casino games, working with Mame
« on: September 20, 2019, 03:30:04 pm »
So after lots of mistakes and looking around the net, i have found the solution to make Igrosoft casino games, work with mame as a real casino game. Now i do own some igrosoft boards, but they brake real easy and are a pain in the ass to fix, so i wanted to use mame cpu instead of the real hardware. No im not using this to become rich or make a living, just pure hobby. Anyway, first i wanted to use an arduino for the outputs, since a pacdrive its kind of expensive and when i bought 2 of them of ebay, found that they have outputs on at start upp (wich i think its kind of a mistake) and couldnt use them for the coin hopper payouts as they would trow away the coins everytime the cab was turned on. So arduino works good, but i still had the problem that payouts wouldnt work as intended. So i asked Howard if he could help me find a solution but he wasnt to confortable with this so he never helped me , so i was on my own. Long  story made short, i found the way for mame to get the hopper working as it should and now i have a good working casino slot setup , im now setting up a hyperspin package with 15 games in it. So i was wondering, if anyone knows of good working casino games in mame let me know so i can add them to the package. Thanks for reading.

I'm not the programmer guy, but I enjoy playing video slot machine games without the prospect of winning money.

well well well, so thanks to the last mesages that was posted, it came out to my atention that either my lat mesage here was deleted or i did not posted anything at all, hahahaha anyway, theres an arduino code that reads coins payouts from mame, together with mamehooker of course, and pays the right amount of coins everytime, i just cant post it here because pc babies would erase my mesage, but its easy to find on google, its on the arduino forum and its in frensh. eventually i got bored and i dont use it anymore but it works.

It's been a while since your post, but I'd like to add some information. That's great to hear you've got Igrosoft casino games working with Mame! Setting it up must have been a bit of a journey.
Im not gonna lie, I bought a special name that was modified to play those games and has some outputs active. So using it together with mamehooker and a regular USB keyboard, I was able to set it up to give outputs to a real coin hopper. The coin hopper returns the coins that have been served to mame via a keyboard encoder, mame stops the hopper and voila, you got a nice working Igrosoft machine.
I tried to have someone to modify the code to a newer version of mame but no one wanted to help. I think I still have it somewhere around.
The newest versions of mame they  do turn on the hopper, but they don't have the count part enabled, as when you hit a key the same amount of coins that have been served, then mame needs to read those keys and turn off the hopper. It should be something simple but I'm not a programmer. I never used it for a commercial environment, always personal, but a lot of folks don't like to help on this kind of stuff, like if nowadays anyone would put this out on the wild to make some money.
