CRUISN USA help
« on: July 08, 2019, 10:04:34 am »
Hi everybody, I´m new around here.
I bought a CRUISN USA, it happens that after arriving home I realized that only brought the wiring, steering wheel and pedals  :banghead:.
I will have to build a retropie project and wanted to take advantage of the commands to apply a raspberry attached to a 29-inch CRT monitor. How can I use the original steering wheel of CRUISN USA?? :dizzy:
Can anyone help? :notworthy:
Thank you all for your attention. :applaud:

I'll just go into old-school Howie mode and do some bullet points as that's a lot of questions.

1.  Welcome, abandon all hope (and your wallet) now.  ;)

2.  Please cut back on the emoticons, you'll give somebody a seizure or something.

3.  First off, you won't be running the arcade version of Cruisn USA on a pie.... it takes a surprising amount of horsepower to emulate that game properly.  If you wish to actually enjoy your new cabinet I highly suggest you purchase as beefy a computer as you can afford.... unless you just want to play 80's and early 90's racers on it anyway.

4.  I'm not sure if the Cruisn type wheel is fully understood in terms of force-feedback, but the rest will require some sort of interface board that supports analog inputs.  Check ultimarc.com and groovygamegear.com

5. You are going to have to be a bit more specific in terms of your crt…. is it an arcade monitor?  old tv?  old pc monitor?  Each requires a different interface and everything but a pc monitor is going to require either a software hack or a specialized video card to work.  Assuming you take my advice and ditch the pie that is.

I'm just trying to give you a bit of a primer.  Tackle each problem one at a time, do proper research and then come back with some more specific questions... somebody should be able to help you then.
