Wire Gauge for (Adapter Board)
« on: May 24, 2019, 01:20:08 pm »
Hi Guys,

I'm making a new Jamma adapter for my City Connection pcb, I just used thick wire last time that I had lying around from an old car loom, but this time I don't have any, is there a mimimum gauge I need to use, I have some black and red which says 7/0.2 which I assume means 7 strand .2mm width? will this be ok, do I need to use thiscker wire for the power connections and if so what gauge?

Thanks,
Chris.

This is the older adapter, its working ok but it's a little loose and doesn't push all the way on, are these wires overly thick?

That's the same size as 24 AWG.

It's an easy size to work with, good for daisy-chain grounds and signal lines, but you'll need larger wires for the power supply connections.

do I need to use thiscker wire for the power connections and if so what gauge?
20 AWG would be my first choice, but 22 AWG should work fine too.
