Nice Person that needs Stargate assist.

New guy, who is old—was 16 when my just acquired Stargate was born in 1982.
Looking for friendly advice and assist with what to do, and how to acquire the implements to get me to the Firebomber Showdown again.


I have recently purchased a raspberry pi 3 b+.  Would like to remove the crt for now and just throw a lcd monitor in there to start. Am thinking of rip/ipac2/monitor lcd and stock control panel. Want to leave as much of the original untouched so that over time I can recondition while still getting to play. 

Any monitor recs? 
Going for easy first, cheap second.
