arcadeos/win32 display problems
« on: February 12, 2004, 05:48:54 am »
Hi first off let me say I'm a total newbie.  I compiled win32 version of mame and want arcadeos for my frontend.  I'm running off of win 98 out of the msdos window, which I'm assuming is what you're supposed to do please tell me if I'm wrong.  Arcadeos loads eventually (takes like a minute and a half to load is that normal?) and sound comes on for the menu and roms show up but when I go to load one I get "Error geting display mode 8876024e.  Unable to start video emulation".  What am I doing wrong?  Is there something I need to set in windows?  Also if you all don't mind explaining how I would have the computer boot into windows but actually boot arcadeos on top (where you don't see it's windows even though it's there)  Thanks for any and all help you can offer.

Are you using the WIN32, the one  that has the built in fronend menu?   If you're using ArcadeOs, then you want to use either the DOS built of Mame, or the WIN command line version of Mame.  The Win 32 version already has a menu built into it.
