Cabinet Opportunity
« on: February 11, 2004, 11:05:31 am »
Can anyone tell me more about this cabinet?  Someone has offered it to me for ~$140.  Looks like a 25" monitor.  Definitely four player.  Could care less about the game inside.

Looks like an excellent cab to start with.

1. Dumb Game

2. Big cabinet

3. Working Monitor

4. Coin doors

5. Power Supply

6. Marquee light.

Everything already works. For 140, that's not bad. It would cost you at least 140 just to replace the coin doors if you built your own.

Yeah, ditto. Great cab for MAME and two working coin doors and a working 25 inch monitor. It's a bargain at $140.

That doesn't look like the original cabinet the game came in. My neighbor used to run an arcade and I specifically remember playing that High Impact Football... If you won it would dispense football cards as a prize. The CP looks a bit smaller. But for 140 how can you say no?

That's a great deal.  If you don't want it, let me know.   ;D
I have a bad feeling about this.

I had an MK 1 that looked just like it.  It was a Midway game before that, wrestlefest or something before it was converted.

The control panel flips up and you can work on it easy.  All you have to do is cut the panel and screw it on the top.

$140 is about the auction price of a cab like that with no tax or buyer's premium.

Good deal all around.  Probably Jamma too.

It's not 25".  It is the original cabinet though, at least it's the same as the one on KLOV and it is the same as most HI's I've seen.  I have also seen them into converted Gauntlet cabs quite a bit.  It's not that big of a cabinet, it's more like Gauntlet-size.  However you could probably fit a larger CP on it and since the monitor is angled back, it would work pretty well, compared to doing the same with a classic style 19" cab.

It's still a good deal though if the picture is good and you have a use for it.

Heck yes.  If I get it, I'm going to MAME it.  I'll have to discuss the financial aspect of it with my wife first, of course.

#1. The Football card dispenser was optional on those games, most did not have it.

#2. I believe those are Wico sticks, so great choice.

#3. If you buy it and are Maming it, then check the klov.com msg board, as I believe someone was looking for the sound board out of one of those.

Working game in good condition for $140 is always a good deal, at least around here. Add to that its a big cab with 2 2p coin doors. If its jamma thats a big bonus. If it was 25" it would be worth double that at least to me.

Sounds like a plan!  Now I just have to convince the wife.  She thinks I have too many cabs already.  I mostly agree, except this is fully working.

Fortunately, you can butter her up with a nice Valentine's day gift and then tell her that a nice "return" gift would be this "very affordable, excellent condition cabinet".

I always try to look out for requested parts. I might not respond much to parts requests, but every time I see one I make a mental note about it.
