Question about Joystick with a Fire button on top
« on: February 08, 2004, 11:15:54 pm »
Question:

I'm re-designing my control panel and I see a lot of panels have a single 8 or 4 way joystick with a fire button on top of it.

Just wondering, why would I want this joystick on my panel?

What game would I play with this setup?  Also, is this usually a 4 way or 8 way type joystick.

Thanks
-GGKoul

Tron needs the ability to joystick, spinner and button all at the same time.  For those of us with just the two hands, a button top or trigger stick works out great.

Tron's not the only game that benefits from being able to manuver and fire with one hand, but I bet it's the #1 reason most people have this kind of stick.

When you see just one joystick, it IS probably for tron.
When you see a setup with two sticks per player, the number of games goes up.

Most of the "tank" type games, require a fire button in addition to the two joysticks.
