Sound glitchy in mame 32 V.102
« on: November 24, 2018, 05:36:42 pm »
I just installed mame 32 V.102 and all of the games have skippy/ glitching sound.  I set frame skipping to automatic and it helped but it still isnt right. Any ideas? Thanks.

First thing first, change your MAME exe with a more recent release. If your PC is low in spec, stick with MAME 0.106 (last release before the first main video handling rewrite... ages ago).
Glitchy sounds could be attributed to a too low CPU speed. GPU and RAM won't affect your PC emulaton performance,  with MAME at least.

.102 is old enough that realistically PC speed should just not be an issue. He would have to be rocking a 400 mhz cpu or something for everything to be skipping due to processor speed. Even the some of the classics would still work. - I have a 16 year old PC in my cabinet right now, CPU speed is not this guy's issue.
Acceptance of Zen philosophy is marred slightly by the nagging thought that if all things are interconnected, then all things must be in some way involved with Pauly Shore.
