Mag-Stik control issue
« on: November 19, 2018, 01:24:47 pm »
Hi there!

First, I'd like to say thank you for welcoming me to the forum!  I've used a LOT of the info from here in building my own cabinet.

So here's my issue, I purchased 4 Mag-Stiks from Ultimarc, and they all wired up well and tested well with a keyboard tester.  However, whenever I load a game, the player one Mag-Stik...well...acts like it's sticking.  To get your character to move to the right, you constantly have to tap the control stick to the right.  Same goes for down and left, but up is just fine.  I've contacted Ultimarc and they thought it was an issue with the micro-switch and sent me new ones, but in swapping them out, nothing has changed.  All the other Mag-Stiks work just fine, so I'm curious as to which way to go from here.

Thank you all in advance!!

If the joysticks check out OK with a keyboard tester then the problem must lie elsewhere.

But, are all controls holding pressed in a keyboard test when physically held? If not, are you using any kind of USB converter? What is the interface set up?

It may seem trivial but is the nut on the bottom tight and the actuator aligned properley?

I had a similar strange issue after stripped one and had not tightened it back up enough.
