I don't think wanting people to not die in a fire is particularly political, but that's just me.  If we don't find a way to fight climate change the death toll is only going to rise as the years roll on.  That's from the mouth of a grandson of a coal miner from southern WV.  I feel my friends and families plight but wrecking the planet for a paycheck doesn't make a lot of sense imho.  The transition to more sustainable energy is going to be hard, but we can do it.  We're Americans damn it, and we can do anything.

Its not politics but a natural order.

Think of it as Mother nature doing her thing, with a little help from human beings.

@Howard_Casto: oil and coal really screwed things up. Hemp offered fuel and textiles - and food - directly. And there are other things. Some company is making meat or meat analogues, as well as hard products and building materials out of mushrooms. I don't know why bamboo hasn't been commercialized.....


@ark_ader: transition of energy is natural. What's done with it is up for grabs.
