Needing help with LEDBLINKY
« on: September 04, 2018, 11:34:03 am »
I've been searching and searching for help with my finishing touches on my arcade. I posted on hyperspin forum and didnt get a response so i thought I would try here. I am using hyperspin as my frontend and RocketlauncherUI with a IPAC ultimate i/o. I have everything working except for the LEDBLINKY. I have the global settings set for blinky in RocketlauncherUI and the it enabled with all in the basic settings. In hyperspin HQ i have it disabled because when i try to find the root LEDBLINKY.exe doesnt appear only files appear in the root window no programs. Ive read other forums that say to have it disabled in hyperspin hq anyways. I downloaded rocketblinky to see if that would help with my issue but still no luck. My issue is that i have the buttons mapped correctly and set up the correct default to each emulator. But when the emulator starts only a few buttons will light up and they will be wrong. The voice text works too but with only what is lighting up which are only a few buttons. I did a debug with Arzoo from LEDBLINKY and he said :

I looked at the data generated by the Controls Editor is it seems like you’ve only added one emulator called “RocketLauncher”. I don’t see any data for Nintendo or Sega. The log file indicates that HS passed the emulator value as “Arcades”, so even if you had added Nintendo or Sega via the controls editor, HS is not passing those values or they weren’t selected? I can’t really help with your HS configuration so you may need to post on the HS forum. But I will suggest you look into using a tool called RocketBlinky; http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,150224.msg1569444.html#msg1569444. It should help you configure a bunch of emulators for use with LEDBlinky.

I am reaching out for any assistance, i am so close to the finish line but got hit by this wall. Usually i can stumble my way around it, but i haven't been able to figure it out. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for reading.

I'm using bigbox..  But I don't think LEDBlinky cares much..  I did find that the logfile in LEDBlinky was very useful.  It pretty much tells you when it can't find something.

The part Arzoo is talking about (I think) is similar to this:
[08/14/2018 18:55:43] Event Completed: GAME_SELECTED
[08/14/2018 18:55:43] Received Event - Queue:[1] Msg:[9~Dragons Lair~Daphne].
[08/14/2018 18:55:43] Event Started: EMULATOR_SELECTED [Daphne] []

[08/14/2018 18:55:43] Event Completed: EMULATOR_SELECTED. Fast Load.
[08/14/2018 18:55:43] Event Started: GAME_SELECTED [Dragons Lair] [] []

[08/14/2018 18:55:50] None of the controls for [OTHER-DEFAULT] are assigned any Input Codes. Use the LEDBlinky Controls Editor application to configure game controls.

Where my log file says emulator - Daphne ///  yours is 'Arcades'
When you are using the LEDBlinky controls editor - the emulator would need to be 'Arcades'  then you would  create the config for the game by ROM name.
For any games other that MAME ones...  you need to use the controls editor and set up the default controls for that emulator..
There is a 'test' button in the controls editor to make sure the LED's are set up correct..

Hope this makes a little sense and helps..
