Ok, I have a few too many Mame cabinets and have decided to move this
one.
It was originally a Sega Space Firebird mini, and it still is
externally. The only external difference is that it has a new joystick
(the Happs Universal joystick, which can be switched between 8-way and
true 4-way mode).
Internally it has a 14" VGA monitor (in place of the original 14" CGA
one). This has been decased and looks great. This isn't like a lot of
other Mame cabinets where you can tell it has a PC monitor, you can't.
The computer is running caseless (with all components mounted on the
back door, which can be removed for easy service). It is an Athlon 650
with 128 RAM (I THINK it has a Voodoo3 video card, but I can't
remember anymore, I can check if anyone actually cares). I seem to recall that the hard drive was a lot larger than it needs to be as well (I think it was like a 30 gig, once again I can check if this actually matters, which it shouldn't as this is a complete unit that you will not need to futz around with).
It is running the gamelauncher frontend. You just pick the game off
the menu and go. You can insert credits by pressing the left coin
return switch and exit the game by pressing the right one. There is
also a power button for the PC mounted on the back door for easy
powerup.
The cabinet itself is in great overall shape. It is a very small mini
(much smaller than most). The marquee and bezel are in terrific
condition and the control panel overlay is decent looking (not
perfect, but more than presentable). The cabinet design is plywood with white laminate.
It currently has all the 8-way vertical Mame titles installed, but I
can also add the 4-way ones if the buyer wants them.
The game is located in St. Louis, MO. You can pick it up, or I can
ship it. Not sure how much it would cost to ship, but probably less
than most games because it is small and light.
I will crate for the cost of wood only (no labor) sold to a Klov, RGVAC, or BYOAC member.
