Itís not his fault they played all his songs 10,000 times on the radio.  His Alamo diorama was pretty cool.

While I enjoy it, you're putting that era over the Gabriel era?!?

Agree to disagree.

In my niche of weird music, people always point to Ministry as the biggest pivot in sound.  But I've always felt you can draw a straight line from their synth music to the metal.  (and enjoy both)

Genesis, on the other hand... wow.  I hadn't even heard of The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway until I was in my late 20s.  And it is nothing like their stuff from the 80s.

Well their stuff from the 80's actually climbed the charts, so I'm not alone in preferring it.  Gabriel era stuff... eh... maybe I would like it better if every song wasn't 20 frikkin minutes of instrumentals before the actual song starts.  Ironically enough Peter Gabriel made some really awesome singles once he left the band.  It was a win-win imho.

Good news for you....every song wasn't like that.

I feel similar. But the 60s/70s enthusiasts, well.......

Industrial didn't interest me. I have preferred metal and synth music separate. What do you mean there?

A little early to give a pass, I saw Blues Brothers over NYE last year, and Dan Ackroyd is the same age. He wasn't high stepping anymore, but he was moving around as much as he could the entire show.

Tool is near me this weekend.  I passed on the tickets when they were $140 each but now I might regret it.  I really want to see them.

I still haven't pulled the trigger on With Confidence later this month.  My daughter wants to go so I should probably take her, right?  Making memories and everything...

I've seen them three times. I go with my friend who has seen them TEN times! Always a great show.

I just ordered Pearl Jam tickets for MSG in March.  Itís sort of a lottery so I donít know if I actually got the tickets but fingers crossed.  The wife and I have seen them probably 15-20 times over the years but not since we were at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame mini-show (4 songs) they did a few years ago and the last proper show we saw was in 2010.  Should be fun!

Hopefully KMFDM plays More And Faster and Virus.

With a few exceptions here and there, KMFDM has been "not great" for 20 years. I've told both Sascha and En Esch they need to patch whatever issue they have and go back to making stuff that's actually good, but so far they haven't listened.   :(  I blame Lucia for ruining that band.

I've skipped a lot of KMFDM and Ministry concerts because of the expense and my "meh" attitude towards their newer music... but it's both of them together.. and it's a nice venue... apparently meh + meh = take my money.
