I recommended you do it officially because, although it’s cool people want to help with unloading and setup, they need to make sure they have adequate manpower for the whole show. They don’t need 30 dudes there for load-in. It’s good people want to help, but the organizers have definite needs.
The other issue is with people who volunteer to help during load-in but then spend their time playing games and not helping (fortunately, that’s never been any one of you guys, but it happens) That needs to be eliminated because it’s not efficient. And then finally, it’s a liability issue.
Generally, Contributor Night (Friday Night) is only open to people who brings their games, but I’ve got special permission from Toxicwas for my BYOAC peeps to also come, since most of you come from out of state. That’s where the Dragon will come in to play this year.
So while it’s cool you all want to help, and I appreciate Ond’s enthusiasm for load-in, make sure you reach out to the organizers first.
